Activity Report: Ghana (Kondo Natsuki)2020.02.12 Natsuki Kondo アフリカ
From the 17th to 29th of January, I visited Ghana.
The mission is coordination among stakeholders for a conference which is planned to be held this coming March.
Since 2018, in collaboration with COTVET, we have conducted a series of skills assessments with garment sector workers and TVET students in Ghana. The assessments were conducted involving formal and informal sector workers and students in different types of TVET institutions. The purpose of the conference in March is to share the interim findings of the research and to exchange experiences among stakeholders about the issues and prospects of skills development in Ghana.
The conference will be co-hosted by COTVET, which is the leading institution to oversee every aspect of skills development in Ghana. Participants will be invited from various sectors including government, development partners, industry, and educational institutions, and we would like to facilitate a discussion among stakeholders about the best way forward.
